Prof. Abdelmohsen Mahmoud Farahat

Prof. Abdelmohsen Farahat is an accomplished architect, landscape architect, and environmental designer born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1946. He earned his Bachelor’s and Diploma in Architecture from Cairo University and a master’s in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia, USA (1976), where he also served as a Teaching Assistant. He later received his Doctorate in Environmental Design and Planning from Virginia Tech (1980), where he served as a Lecturer.

From 1978 to 2016, he held academic positions at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia, including Full Professor, Department Chair, and School Coordinator. Prof. Farahat has authored over 40 publications and two books, including The Arabian Concept of Space in Environment and Form (2020). He has led numerous architectural, urban design, and public art projects worldwide, earning over 12 international and local awards. Since 2015, he has actively exhibited his artwork and published poetry, enriching academic and artistic communities.
